Duneislandshores opened in 1978 as a single villa on a still bay, and expanded only when we knew we could expand without losing what made it worth the journey. 48 years later, we hold 100 rooms and suites, two kitchens and two gaming rooms, and we still decline more business than we accept.
Luxury, for us, is not marble and gold leaf. It is the second coffee you never had to request, the driver who recalls your name, the table kept an hour past closing because you were still deep in conversation. We hire for that instinct and we retain the people who possess it.
Most of our guests return, and that is the entire plan. We would sooner see 60 percent of a smaller circle come back each year than pursue a larger one that never does.
Hospitality without spectacle.
We put little stock in flourish. The flowers are fresh because they ought to be. The robe is heavy because it ought to be. The kitchen closes when the last guest is ready, not when the menu dictates. The work that counts is the work you never notice — and that is the work we place first.
There is a way to do this craft and a way not to. We have, across 48 years, chosen one and held to it. Every member of our team — from the front desk to the kitchen porters — has been selected, trained and retained because they share the same sense of what good looks like. That is not something a building can create alone. It comes from people.

Sunset Terraces
Three open-air dining levels facing west, arranged so that no two tables ever look straight at each other. The golden hour here lasts about forty minutes. We have tuned the menu, the music, and the lighting around it for years now.
